2021 11/27 – Margaret Alise McClain

Margaret Alise McClain of Indianapolis, IN passed away on November 15, 2021, after a battle with kidney disease. She attended Centralia High and joined the healthcare field as a Certified Nursing Assistant, which she continued to pursue until retirement. Margaret loved fishing, bowling, and cooking for her family. Her famous potato salad is a family favorite! Margret accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was led to Christ by her brother Reverend Val Powe. We love her deeply, and eternally and take comfort in knowing that Margaret is resting peacefully.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Ricks Chapel AME Zion Church in Centralia with her brother, Reverend Val Powe officiating. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Friends are welcome to a visitation time with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Sharisa Powe of Indianapolis, IN; sister and best friend Debra Walls of Indianapolis; brothers Reverend Val Powe and wife Colleen of Centralia, Richard Powe and Desi of Centralia, Marlon Powe and wife Elizabeth of Texas, Stephen Powe and wife Karla; grandchildren Ryan Kollman of East Moline, IL, Farran Jones, Dreeana Powe and Shania Powe of Indianapolis, IN; great-grandchildren Samira Jones, Tyce Reese, Zayden Bland, Christopher Hill Jr., and Devyn Hill of Indianapolis, IN.

Margaret was born on May 30, 1953, to Samuel Sr. and Hilda June Powe in Centralia, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her son, Cedric Powe; Parents, Samuel Powe Sr. and Hilda June Powe of Centralia, IL; brothers Bryant Powe, Charles Powe, Samuel Powe, Jr.
