2021 11/22 – Delores Taylor

Delores M. Taylor, 91, of Centralia, passed away November 16, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her family. Delores worked at Warren G. Murray Center in Centralia for many years as a Mental Health Technician and later retired. She also was a beautician and caregiver. She enjoyed going on her bus trips with her Murray Center Friends. She was an avid Centralia Annies Fan and would attend all the family basketball, softball, and volleyball games. Delores liked knitting, embroidering, sewing, making ceramics, feeding and watching hummingbirds, planting and growing flowers, and watching westerns. She cherished the time she spent with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.

A Visitation for Delores will be held Monday, November 22, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. Graveside Services will follow at 1:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia with Pastor Steve Upchurch officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Centralia V.F.W. Post 2055 and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618) 532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Taylor Family. Delores is survived by her three children: Robert Taylor and wife Cynthia of Odin, Mark Taylor and wife Tammie of Centralia, and Deanna Taylor of Centralia; seven grandchildren: Mandy Taylor, Nikki Burleyson and husband Travis, Jennifer Burge and husband T.J., Staci Burleyson and husband Brandon, Robert E. “Bob” Franklin and wife A.J., Brian Franklin, and Brooke Judge and husband Patrick; eight great-grandchildren: Ashten Kruep and husband James, Lauren Burge, Keagan Burleyson, Bryar Burleyson, Kaylie Penland, Caidin Cook, Jaleigh Franklin, Andrew Burleyson and one on the way; a great-great grandson: Jaxson Kruep; a sister-in-law: Joyce Sieber of Peoria; and several nieces and nephews.

She was born February 17, 1930, in Centralia, the daughter of Wayne Sieber and Clara Effie (Myers) Sieber. She married Robert Dean Taylor in 1954 and he preceded her in death in 1973. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter: Mary Taylor, who passed on December 25, 1955, her 5 brothers: Russell Sieber, Raymond Sieber, Ervin Sieber, Robert Sieber, and Dean Sieber, and two sisters: Elsie Sommers, Cleo Donahoo, and Clara Irene Tabor.
