Lloyd D. Irvin, 92 passed away November 5, 2021 at Heritage Woods in Centralia. Lloyd served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Baptist faith. Mr. Irvin worked as a carpenter in Centralia Illinois and Detroit Michigan. His passion was flying model airplanes. Lloyd enjoyed Cardinal baseball. His favorite thing was spending time with family, especially his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service November 20, 2021 at 10:30 AM at First Baptist Church in O’Fallon, Illinois.
Mr. Irvin is survived by four sons and a daughter. Terry Michael Irvin of Bellville, David amd Judy Irvin of Carlyle, Linda and Paul Heinrich of Belleville, Tim and Karen Irvin of Tampa, Florida and Danny and Marie Irvin of Houston, Texas; Three sisters, May Lou Hazlip of Woodlawn, California, Lucille and husband Leland of Oregon, Illinois and Patricia and husband Bud Gorman of Morriston, Florida; a brother, Fred and Lori Irvin of Mt. Morris, Illinois. 28 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren also survive.
Lloyd D. Irvin was born April 29, 1929 in Centralia son of Amos and Etta Irvin. Lloyd married Phyllis M. Garren on May 2, 1947 at Fort Knox, Kentucky. She preceded him in death in 2003. Also proceding Lloyd was his beloved grandson, Erik W. Irvin; two brothers, James and Basil; and sister, Elaine.
