2021 11/16 – Janalyn “Jan” Winkler

Janalyn “Jan” Winkler, 67, of Centralia passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021. Jan had a compassionate heart, which was a blessing to those she cared for at Odin Health Care Center while working there as a CNA for 32 years. She never met a stranger and was generous to all, seeing needs of others and meeting those needs by treating them as family. Jan was an amazing cook best known for her mouthwatering potato salad and baked beans. She enjoyed shopping and collecting treasures. Jan was a wonderfully beloved mother and grandmother who was the glue of her family’s bonds.

A Rite of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Sandoval with Rev. Fr. Steven Pautler officiating. Memorials may be made in Jan’s honor to the Family’s Wishes and will be accepted for the family at the funeral home. Survivors include her beloved family, children Tim Anderson (Heather) of Central City, Scott Anderson (Allison Dickenson) of Centralia, Jason Anderson (Tyra) of Mt. Vernon, Ron Winkler of Central City, Cassandra Watson of Centralia, and Amanda Eckert (Rogina) of Centralia; grandchildren Amber, Kyle, Austin, Scott, Alexis, Brittany, Brandon, Cristian, Logan, Benjamin, Marissa, Madison, and Becca; 7 great-grandchildren with two on the way; siblings Linda McGibany, and Bill Hall (MaryEllen); and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was born on November 2, 1954, the daughter of William Elgin Hall and Theresa Marie Warren in Centralia. She married Russell Winkler and he preceded her in death over 20 years ago. Along with her husband Russell Winkler, Jan was preceded in death by her father and mother; sisters JoAnne Ballue, Charlene Bosler, Francess Moore, and Mary Brass; son Matthew Anderson; and grandson Timothy Anderson.
