Joyce Roy, 80, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away November 10, 2021, at her residence. She was born February 16, 1941, in Oxley, Missouri to the late Oral Franklin and Alma Elizabeth (Murphy) Johnston. Joyce married the love of her life, Randall R. Roy, Sr. on April 9, 1959. They were blessed with 48 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on October 18, 2007.
Joyce is survived by her children, Randall Roy, Jr. and wife, Angela of Mount Vernon, Richard Roy of New Jersey, Debbie Crider and husband, Carl of Opdyke, Illinois, and Carolyn Smith and husband, Mickey of DuQuoin, Illinois; grandchildren, April Graves, James Roy, Rebecca Oliver, Matthew Roy, Rachel Trostle, Jeff Dennis, Logan Crider, and Michael Garrison; several great-grandchildren; and sister, Karen Roush.
Joyce had a strong Christian faith. She loved her family unconditionally and took great pride in them. Joyce truly enjoyed taking loving care of her family. She will be missed by all who knew and adored her.
A Graveside Service was held Friday, November 12, 2021, at 1:00 pm at Hopewell Cemetery in Mount Vernon with Reverend Brian Fuller officiating. Interment will follow.
