Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a 29-year-old Edgewood man Tuesday night for alleged possession of a controlled substance.  Walter West of East 970th was taken into custody after the Marion County K9 alerted on the vehicle after deputies had initially been called to a suspicious vehicle.

41-year-old Surrona Phelps of West Warmoth in Salem was arrested by Centralia Police on an outstanding Marion County felony failure to appear warrant.  She was taken into custody when Police were called to a domestic disturbance in the 900 block of South Marion in Centralia.  The bond is set at $10,000.

A 38-year-old Baltimore, Maryland man was arrested by sheriff’s deputies for battery and two outstanding Florida warrants on Sunday.   Phillip Discue allegedly bit a seven-year-old child at a home in Alma before leaving and later being located by a deputy.

31-year-old Roderick Currie of South Hickory in Centralia was arrested by sheriff’s deputies on a Marion County felony failure to appear warrant and an Illinois Department of Corrections warrant.  Bond on the failure to appear warrant has been set at $2,500.

71-year-old Richard Green of West Bond in Patoka was arrested on Sunday for domestic battery.  He allegedly struck a girlfriend who was treated for her injuries at the scene.

69-year-old Charles Hays of South Sycamore in Centralia posted a $300 bond after being arrested on a Marion County failure to appear warrant by sheriff’s deputies.

30-year-old Kiley Berry of Randolph Street in Beckemeyer posted bond and was released after being arrested for driving under the influence.
