2021 11/03 – Jerry Dean Evischi

Jerry Dean Evischi left his earthly body on October 30, 2021 in Centralia at the age of 84. Always the life of the party, he always had a magic trick, or joke for friends. His favorite pastimes included bocci ball, riding his Harley and playing golf. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends. Jerry joined the US Navy, in Naval Aviation, in 1955 at the age of 17. Following his service, he worked for IL Central Railroad and retired as a security guard at Kaskaskia Jr. College after 20 years. He was also a member of the Elks Club.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association (Act.Alz.org) and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home and Cremation Services at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618)532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Evischi Family. He married Andrea Moore on May 1, 1971. Jerry is survived by his wife Andrea Evischi, daughter Lynn Rudy (Richard) of Flora, IL., son Bradley Thornhill (Patty) of Mt. Vernon, IL., son Connor Thornhill (Amy) of Miamisburg, OH., and daughter Rae Ann Quidgeon (Chris) of Centralia. He was the best PeePaw to his many grandchildren: Ann, Autumn, David, Kate, Chase and Sailor, and great grandchildren: Caleb, Lainy, Danielle, Gwen, Arya, Zander, Natalie, J.P., III, and Jon.

Born in Centralia on August 8, 1937, the son of Elda Wright Evischi and Ermando Ugo Evischi. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Donnie.
