A Centralia home was damaged in a fire blamed on an electrical fire in a ceiling fan.
Centralia City Firemen say the fire was at the Joe Smith home at 126 Oak Park Drive East. The ceiling fan that caught fire was in a southeast bedroom and was mostly confined to the attic. There was some smoke damage to other parts of the home. The damage was placed at $5,000.
Firemen received the call at 3:02 Thursday afternoon and were on the scene for just over an hour. One additional shift of firefighters was called in to cover the station in the event of another fire.
The home is owned by Janet Austin.
