Glenn D. Towler, 91, of Patoka passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021. He was born on January 27, 1930, the son of Frederick and Virden (Brumfield) Towler in Fayette County. He married Leathyan Eversole on November 26, 1949, in Hazard County, Kentucky and she survives in Patoka.
Along with his wife of 71 years, Leathyan Towler, survivors include his children, Edna Potter of Patoka, Isiac Moody of Patoka, Glenn R. Towler and his wife Barbara of Vernon, and Betty Harwell of Patoka; 14 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and sister Betty Sanders.
Mr. Towler was preceded in death by his parents Frederick and Virden Towler; sister Pauline Dale; and brothers Thomas Towler, and Clifford R. Towler.
Mr. Towler served his country with honor in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. Glenn D. was a wonderful provider for his family, working with the Operators Engineers Local 520. He could look at any small engine or lawnmower and know instinctively how to repair it. Glenn was taught at a young age how to hunt and trap and it was a skill he continued on into adulthood, sharing this knowledge with his family. Glenn will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Magassi Cemetery in rural Patoka. Military rites will be accorded by the Patoka American Legion Post #543. Memorials may be made in Glenn’s honor to the Magassi Cemetery and will be accepted for the family at the funeral home.
