Larry Don Webb, 73, of Centralia, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.
Larry was born May 17, 1948, in Mt. Vernon, IL, the son of Roger Webb and Norma Jean (Minor) Webb. He married Gerri Bardle on July 8, 1983, in Salem, IL and she survives him in Centralia.
In addition to his wife Gerri of 38 years, he is survived by two sons: Timothy Webb and wife Marni of Paducah, KY, and Larry Scott of Mt. Vernon; four grandchildren: Lauren White of Huston, TX, Zack Webb of Waltonville, Amber Hall and Keanen of Pueblo West, CO, and Lexi Church and husband Dakota of Bluford; two great-grandchildren: Madison and Weston Hall of Pueblo West, CO; one sister: Pamela McMahan and husband Richard of Mt. Vernon; one brother: Jayson Webb and wife Erika of Boulder, CO; mother-in-law: Juanita Owens of Centralia; and many nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by her parents: Roger Webb and Norma Webb, his grandparents, and fathers-in-law: Clifford E. Bardle and Thomas Owens.
Larry served in the U.S. Navy. He proudly served as the Sergeant of Arms for the Funeral Detail for the American Legion Post #446 and V.F.W. Post 2055, where he gave many of his fellow Veterans their last Military Honor. He was also a member of the 40&8 Society and served as the past Chef De Gare. He also enjoyed fishing, but most importantly he cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.
Funeral Services for Larry Don Webb will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. Entombment will follow at the Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Mt. Vernon, Il with Military Honors accorded at the cemetery by the American Legion Post #446 and V.F.W. Post #2055 in Centralia. A visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home from 10:00 am to the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Veteran’s Honor Flight or to the Tunnels for Towers and will be accepted by the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street in Centralia, Illinois 62801 (618) 532-3523, which is honored to be of service to the Webb family.
