2021 10/11 – Shelbie Jo Kuberski

Shelbie Jo Kuberski, 85, of Patoka passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Odin Health Care Center. She was born on May 2, 1936, the daughter of LeRoy and Juanita (Raines) Laffoon. She married Wayne Reynolds and 4 children were born to this union. She later married John Kuberski and he survives in Patoka

Along with her beloved husband of 52 years, John Kuberski, Shelbie is survived by her devoted family, children Pamela Wurm and husband Gary of Fisher, Indiana, Cheryll Reynolds of Irvington, Illinois, and Bryan Reynolds and wife Terri of Sandoval, Illinois; grandchildren Scott Dykstra and wife Brandy, Traci Deadmond and husband Arron; Bryan J. Reynolds and wife Tisha, and John Reynolds; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brothers Phillip Laffoon and wife Mary Ellen of Dix, Illinois, Tony Laffoon and wife Mona of Colorado, and David Lafoon and wife Debbie of Missouri; sisters Joy Corder of Jacksonville, Illinois, and Patty Farmer and husband Jeff of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

Shelbie was preceded in death by her parents LeRoy and Juanita Laffoon; stepmother Mae Laffoon; son Bruce Reynolds; and grandson Zachariah Reynolds.

Shelbie was a faithful employee for Miss Elaine’s Dress Factory in Centralia during her working years. She loved to cook and prepared delicious meals for her family. Shelbie had a tender heart for animals, giving special attention to her furry companions, her little dogs. She liked to relax while sitting on her porch swing and didn’t even let the heat of the day get in the way of enjoying the view from her swing. She had a true musical gift and loved to play bluegrass music. Shelbie was a great example to all those who knew her and her kindness and love for her family will never be forgotten.

A double graveside service for Shelbie Kuberski, and her son Bruce Reynolds will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 11, 2021, at Sandoval Cemetery with Chaplain Joannie Naraghi officiating. Memorials may be made in Shelbie’s name to the Family’s wishes and will be accepted for the family at the Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval.
