2021 10/08 – Mildred G. Tate

Mildred G. Tate, 92, of Texico, passed away Monday, October 4, 2021, at White Oak Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon.

She was born October 6, 1928, in Sesser, the daughter of Bryan and Mattie (McBride) Eubanks.  On April 25, 1946, she married Robert Edmin Tate, and he preceded her in death on May 22, 1989.

Mildred attended Goode Township School in Sesser, Illinois, and was a member of Sesser Baptist Church.  She loved her grandchildren, cooking, baking, and was an avid Cardinals fan.

She is survived by a daughter, Gaye A. Piercy and husband Greg of Texico;  a son-in-law, Richard Baker;  grandchildren, Robin George and husband Jimmy, Angie Harris and husband Kurt, Renee Tate, Richie Baker, Amy Mulherrin and husband Tommy, Kim Tate and partner Mallory, Dan Lopez and wife Tena, Kellie Hedditch and husband Chris, Robbie Tate, Ashley Hoffman and husband Doug, and Matthew Piercy and wife Lindsay;  26 great-grandchildren;  12 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Pitchford.

In addition to her husband, Robert Tate, Mildred was preceded in death by her parents;  daughters Vickie Rider and Scherry Baker;  Son Robert L. Tate;  five brothers;  and two sisters.

Funeral services for Mrs. Tate will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, October 8, 2021, at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, with Dan Lopez officiating.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Friday, October 8, 2021, from 11:00 a.m., until 12:00 p.m., at the funeral home.  Memorial gifts may be made to the White Oak Activity Fund and will be accepted at the service, or by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O.
