Dorothy Elaine Combs, age 93, of St. Peter, Illinois passed away at 6:12 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. Dorothy was a member of the Southpoint Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. She was a supervisor for State Farm Insurance for 55 years. Dorothy enjoyed working and spending time with her family, friends, and her caretaker Deanna. She spent her last few years at The Glenwood Assisted Living which she called home.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Pagel Funeral Homes in St. Peter, Illinois with a one-hour viewing prior to the service. The burial will be at Farina Cemetery in Farina, Illinois. Memorials may go to Farina Food Pantry, Southpoint Baptist Church- 3335 Tiger Hole Road Jacksonville, Florida, 32216, or the donor’s choice. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Ruth Combs of Kinmundy, Illinois; nephew, Bryan Combs (wife Patty) of Kinmundy, Illinois; and great-nephew, Riley Combs.
Dorothy was born August 1, 1928, in Marion County, Illinois, the daughter of Dewey and Wilhelmina “Minnie” (Hanbaum) and stepmother Mary Combs. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Minnie Combs; stepmother, Mary Combs; and brother, Harry Combs.
