Ronnie Lee Moyer, 79, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away October 1, 2021 at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. Ronnie proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1960-1964. He was the owner and operator for Moyer Recycling for many years. Ronnie was a faithful member of Mount Vernon Baptist Temple. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Mount Vernon Baptist Temple in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 pm with Pastor Tim Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. The American Legion Post #141 will conduct full military honors at the cemetery. Memorials may be made in Ronnie’s honor to Mount Vernon Baptist Temple Missions. Ronnie married Shirley (Browning) Moyer on December 11, 1981 in Mount Vernon. They were blessed with nearly 40 years of marriage. In addition to his beloved wife, Ronnie is survived his children, LeeAnn French, Heather LeeAnn, Carrie Lynn, Katie Lynn Moyer, and Melissa; stepchildren, Patty Jo Thornhill, Lisa Dawn Bradford, Billy Ray Bradford, Lori Ann Curless, Jodi Lynn Story, and Anita Buchanan; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Donnie Moyer and wife, Carla, Carl Moyer and wife, Pam, Glenda Hibbs and husband, Dowell, and Dena Soler; and friend, Paul Launey.
He was born March 3, 1942 in Alton, Illinois to the late Roy and Leona (Catron) Moyer. In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Toby Joe Bradford, LaVella Jaylin Phyfiher, and Andrea Dawn Bradford; sister, Donna Jean Moyer; and sister-in-law, Debbie Moyer.
