Doris M. Holzhauer, 87, of Centralia, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021, at HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon after a brief illness.
Doris was born June 8, 1934, in Centralia, the daughter of Erchel L. Miller and Nora E. (Beadle) Miller. She married Darrell B. Holzhauer on March 28, 1953, and he preceded her in death on March 18, 2017.
Doris is survived by: two daughters: Marsha D. Holzhauer of Centralia and Darilyn J. Holzhauer of Swansea, IL; grandchildren: Darrell “Darby” Bronson of Centralia and Michael E. Bronson and wife Emily of Centralia; brother: Jerry Miller of Lebanon, MO; two sisters-in-law: Sue Miller of Centralia and Dorothy “Dotty” Miller of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents: Erchel and Nora Miller; husband: Darrell B. Holzhauer; brother: Donald Miller; and a sister: Phyllis Moore.
Doris graduated from Centralia Township High School class of 1951. She enjoyed reading books and playing Bridge. She was a life master of duplicate Bridge.
Private Family Services for Doris M. Holzhauer will be held at a later date. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia.
