2021 09/10 – Anna May Speiser

Anna May Speiser, 81, of Sandoval passed away, surrounded by the love of her family, Sunday, August 29, 2021. She was born on December 23, 1939, the daughter of Wilson and Goldie (Yardley) Quick in Boulder. She married Wilbert “Darrel” Speiser in March of 1958 and he preceded her in death on August 10, 2021.

Survivors include her beloved family children Cheryl Haines and husband Roy of Odin, Pamela Charlton and husband George of Prattville, Alabama, Gail Speiser and wife T.J. of Odin, and Matt Speiser and wife Lora of Sandoval; grandchildren Scott and Cheryl Haines, Chris and Jessie Haines, Chad and Emily Haines, Amber Haines and fiancé John Thompson, Michelle and Greg Mills, Eric Charlton, Kortney Speiser, Billy Janicki, Janette and Thomas Albers, and Darrell Ray Speiser; 20 great-grandchildren and one on the way; siblings Ruth Wilbur and husband Ray of Mt. Vernon, Gary Quick and wife Ruth of Centralia; sister-in-law Mary Quick of Odin; and several nieces and nephews

Along with her husband of 63 years, Darrel Speiser, Anna May was preceded in death by her parents Wilson and Goldie Quick; her son David Speiser; her grandson Joshua Speiser; brothers Bill and Leroy Quick; and sister Delores Stein.

Anna May was born and raised in the Boulder area. She was a homemaker and tremendous help on her and her husband, Darrel’s farm for the last 58 years. She had an amazing green thumb, growing the most beautiful rose gardens. Anna May will be remembered for her hard work ethic, kind heart, and passion for her family, and she will be deeply missed.

Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval is privileged to be assisting the family of Anna May Speiser with arrangements. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021, at Hillcrest Cemetery in rural Sandoval. Memorials may be made in Anna May’s honor to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and will be accepted for the family at the funeral home.
