Donald R. Hickam, 80, of Kinmundy, Illinois passed away at the Lutheran Care Center in Altamont, IL. He was an over-the-road truck driver for Schneider Trucking. He honorably served in the United States Marines during the Viet Nam War.
Mr. Hickam chose a simple cremation with no public visitation. The family invites you to gather with them at the Alma Cemetery for a graveside service to be held at 11:00 am, Friday, September 10, 2021, Alma, IL. with military honors accorded graveside by the Salem American Legion Post #128. Josh Conley will officiate. Due to the recent pandemic, you are encouraged to wear a mask to the service. Surviving are his children, Donald Matthew Hickam of Edgewood, IL, Mae McNamee and husband Darryl of Edwardsville, IL, and his son-in-law James Butts of Kinmundy, IL, along with 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and was anticipating the birth of his 7 great-grandchildren. He also has a brother Earl D. Hickam and wife Nancy of Sun City, California.
Born March 25, 1941, in Murphysboro, IL, he was the son of Ira Matthew Warden and Margie (Jackson) Warden who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Loretta Butts.
