2021 09/04 – Ronald L. Burbank

Ronald L. Burbank, 72, of Iuka, Illinois passed away at St. Louis VA Medical Center-John Cochran Division. An over the road truck driver, he was a veteran in the United States Navy faithfully serving in the Viet Nam war. He was a member of the Leon Burson American Legion Post 395 in Plano, Illinois. Since living in this area, he had a great relationship with the Salem American Legion Post #128.

Ron chose Simple Cremation. There will be no public visitation or burial. A Celebration of Life will be hosted by the Salem American Legion Post #128 of Salem, IL, at 2:00 pm , Saturday, September 4, 2021. Memorials may be made to the Leon Burson American Legion Post #395, 510 E. Dearborn St., Plano, IL 60545, and may be sent directly to them, or will be received by the Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 978, 310 N. Broadway, Salem, IL 62881 (618) 548-1234, entrusted with the family’s care.

Surviving him is his son, Derrick J. Burbank of Felton, PA, and a brother, Kenneth Burbank and wife Debbie of Earlville, IL.

Born December 15, 1948 in Aurora, he was the son of Oliver J. and Nora (Peters) Burbank who preceded him in death.
