Marjorie Rhea Davis, 90, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 6:30 am August 19, 2021 with her family by her side at her daughter’s home in Centralia, Illinois.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral home in Mount Vernon. A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 1:30 at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mount Vernon with Reverend Merle Fullerton officiating. Interment will follow. Marjorie is survived by her children, Vicki Spears of Centralia and Robert Wade McGuire of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Michelle Johnston and husband, Johnny of Centralia, Il, Ryan McGuire and wife, Vanessa of Mt. Vernon, Il, Christopher McGuire of Sesser, Il, Angela Bodine and Heather Bodine, Brandon McGuire, Bethany McGuire, all of Mt. Vernon, Il; great-grandchildren, Abigale, Emily, Jordan, Aidan, Emma, Phoenix, Lexie, Camden, Ainsley, Kassidy, Tyler, Dakota, Donavan, Abel, Jayce and Jozie; great-great granddaughter, Charli Mae Reynolds of Salem, Il; and nephew, Jeff Scrivner of Marion, Il.

She was born June 7, 1931 in Jefferson County, Illinois to the late Samuel and Mauvoleane (Nichols) Simpson. Marjorie first married Robert D. McGuire on May 26, 1947. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1984. She later married Paul Davis in 1988 and he preceded her in death on February 23, 1996. In addition to her parents and beloved husbands, Marjorie was preceded in death by her twin sons, John Robert McGuire and James Gregory McGuire; grandson, Bobby McGuire; siblings, Evelyn Scrivner, Samuel Nelson Simpson, and an infant brother; and two loving dogs, Heidi Sue and Petey.
