By WJBD Staff Aug 21, 2020 | 12:31 PM

David L. Tippit, 69, of Centralia, IL was welcomed to his eternal home, into the arms of his loving savior on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 11:01 p.m. David worked as a concrete mason for many years and was a Jack of all trades. He was a devoted Christian and a member of Eternity Baptist Church in Centralia. Those that knew him, knew that he was a loving husband, father, grandpa, and father figure to all of his kids friends. He lived for his family and when he wasn’t entertaining his grandkids, you could find him in the sound booth at church, in his garage fixing something, in the kitchen cooking his famous tacos, or binge watching seasons of Mash. His mission in life was to teach his family the word of God and to witness all of his children turn their lives over to Christ.

A Celebration of Life Service for David Tippit will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eternity Baptist Church in Centralia with Pastor Karl Barnfield officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. till 2:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to his loving family and will be accepted at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618)532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Tippit Family. Online condolences may be made to the family by visiting www.sutherlandfuneralhome.com and the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home Facebook Page.
