Leroy Uchitjil, 81 of Odin, Illinois, passed away at his home on July 6, 2021, his 81st. birthday, in the loving care of his family.
Leroy was employed by Quick’s Implement Co., formerly of Odin, IL, and retired from Jansen Equipment of Carlyle, IL. He was a faithful member of Marion County Church of Christ in Odin.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday at the Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home with burial to follow at Peaceful Valley Cemetery, Odin. Visiting hours will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday at the Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home. The family suggests you consider donations to the Siteman Cancer Center, St. Louis, MO, and will be accepted by the Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, 310 N. Broadway, P.O. Box 97, Salem, IL 62881, entrusted with the family’s care.
Born July 6, 1940, at Iuka, IL, he was the son of Joe and Bessie (Howe) Uchitjil.
He was united in marriage March 10, 1961, with Linda Lytton and she survives in Odin, along with their children Kevin (Pat) Uchitjil of Odin, and Michele (Marlin) Hanks of Kinmundy, IL; one brother Robert Uchitjil of Odin, sisters Frances Uchitjil and Carol Phillips both of Salem, Necie Quick of Odin and Ann Ruckman of Madera, CA; two grandchildren, Justin Hanks of Kinmundy and Candra Hays of Salem, along with four great-grandchildren, Jace, Jadie, Bristol and Rilynn.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings Raymond and Ralph Uchitjil, and Mary Booher.
