Indianapolis Man Dies During Apparent Road Rage Incident in Mt. Vernon
Mt. Vernon Police say a 47-year-old Indianapolis man has died from injuries sustained in a crash that appears to be the result of road rage. Police report Jeremy Studer was traveling on Broadway Wednesday night when a vehicle pulled in front of him. Studer allegedly passed the vehicle at a high rate of speed while hanging out the driver's window while making rude gestures. Rural Patoka Mobile Home Damaged By Fire
A single-wide mobile home received substantial damage in a fire that broke out late Wednesday evening at 1231 Britt Road east of Patoka. Patoka Fire Chief Blake Hyde says the Sam Britt family was woke up by a smoke detector and were all able to escape without injury. The fire appears to have started near the end of the couch and end table in the living room, where there was an electrical outlet with items plugged in. Kinmundy Mayor Angie Diss has begun her second term as Mayor after winning the April 1st election. The board also seated new 1st ward alderman Paul Etherton who replaces Emily Hassebrock who did not run seek re-election. Kinmundy City Council decides museum needs to pay rent and utilities
The operators of the museum located in the office building owned by the City of Kinmundy will no longer be able to stay rent free. The board made the decision Thursday night when reviewing the finances of the building that is in the red. Board members realize the decision could lead the museum to close down.
