A 43-year-old Centralia woman is being held in the Marion County Jail for aggravated battery to a police officer, simple battery, and hate crime following two separate altercations.
Police say they were called to the Jera Alcorn home on South Maple Street early Thursday morning to a report of an altercation with a neighbor. She reportedly scratched the neighbor, jumped his fence and yelled a homophobic word at him while police were present after becoming upset the neighbor had asked her to take her barking dogs inside. Police say the neighbor allegedly had several fresh cuts to his face.
Police also arrested Alcorn in connection with an early morning incident on March 6th when she allegedly got into an altercation with her boyfriend who was moving out. She allegedly struck him in the chest and punched one of the responding police officers in the chest.
Alcorn was taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia for health reasons and allegedly fought with the hospital staff before being admitted. Due to her hospital treatment, Alcorn was not arrested at the time.
