The Program Director of the Little Egypt CEO Program feels they made progress in opening doors this year and is looking forward to big growth in the number of students for next year.

Emily Haake says the four students this year were able to do much more as COVID-19 restrictions were lifted in February and more businesses became involved.

“More people knew about the program and it was a repeat from last year so we were able to get into more businesses because I was able to show them photos of what we did last year.  To show that hey last year we went into Graphic Packaging, would be able to come into here this year as well?”

Haake is excited about the number of participants jumping to 12 next year.

“That will be a change of pace for me going from 4 to 12 but I think it will be welcome.  I think they will push each other a little more with different personalities and a lot more creative flow.”

Haake says all six high schools in the county will be represented this year, Centralia, Salem, Odin, Sandoval, Patoka, and South Central. She feels their business partners will also be pleased to see the growth in the program that is designed to teach the students about the operation of a business at the same time they plan and begin operating their own business.
