Centralia Police arrested 18-year-old Justin Street of East Noleman in Centralia after being called to a report of a man screaming in the street near the Amtrak train station on Oak Street around 12:30 Saturday morning. Street was taken into custody for alleged aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting arrest after reportedly striking and resisting an officer trying to take him into custody. Street was taken to the Marion County Jail pending a decision on formal charges.
Salem Police arrested 22-year-old Kelby Firnhaber of Markland Street in Salem for alleged retail theft and possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine. Police say they were called to Discount Tobacco on Westgate Avenue where the retail theft allegedly occurred. Firnhaber reported had some pills in a pill bottle that tested positive for methamphetamine. He was taken to the Marion County Jail pending a decision on formal charges.
