A 21-year-old Mt. Vernon man has been charged with six counts of terrorism for making a false threat in Jefferson County Court in connection with recent bomb threats.

Raymond Needy is accused of making bomb threats to Continental Tire, Walmart, and Dollar Tree over the past month.

Each of the charges is a Class 1 felony.

Court records indicate Needy has not yet made his first appearance in court or had bond set.

Mt. Vernon Police are thanking Continental Tire and Walmart for their time and assistance on the investigation.  The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department also assisted.
