A 43-year-old Edgewood man was injured in a motorcycle crash on US 40 in Effingham County early Sunday night.
State Police say preliminary information indicates Richard Newlin was eastbound on US 40 when for unknown reasons he ran off the left side of the road and crashed into a ditch off the roadway.
Newlin was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
He was ticketed for driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, improper lane usage, failure to secure registration, operating an uninsured vehicle, improper use of registration/title and driver’s license classification violation.
