Centralia Police say two people were arrested after a series of incidents late Tuesday night.

Police Lieutenant Steve Whritenour says the initial arrest came after they were called to a report of an altercation at Skipper’s Inn.

21-year-old Kiara McMullen of East 13th in Centralia was arrested for aggravated battery to a police officer after she allegedly shoved an officer talking to her boyfriend, 21-year-old Dalton Garrison of Chicago Avenue in Wamac.   McMullen had an additional charge of criminal damage to state supported property added after allegedly damaging the prisoner cage on the squad car while being taken to the Marion County Jail.

Garrison was not arrested at the time but was after police responded to a rolling domestic involving two vehicles chasing each other.   Police say one of the cars stopped, but the second sped away from police.   It eventually crashed into a fence around the ConAgra Parking Lot in the 500 block of South Chestnut Street.  Both the driver and Garrison, who was a passenger, fled on foot.   Garrison was taken into custody a short distance away.   He allegedly was seen throwing a small package to the ground before being apprehended.  Police say it contained 14.5 grams of cannabis.  A rifle and ammunition along with several baggies of cannabis, a small amount of cocaine, and a scale were also recovered.

Garrison was taken to the Marion County Jail for possession of adult-use cannabis in a vehicle, resisting arrest, and unlawful possession of a weapon and ammunition by a felon.
