A 29-year-old Salem man has been arrested for alleged aggravated assault after allegedly going to his uncle’s home in Centralia, pointing a gun at him, and threatening to kill him.

Centralia Police say Jeremy Lippert of South Franklin allegedly went to his uncle’s home in the 900 block of Cormick Street last Saturday night and banged on the door. Lippert reportedly wanted his mail, which his uncle said was never delivered to his home. After reopening the door a short time later, Lippert was allegedly pointing a gun through the glass. Lippert then allegedly threatened to kill his uncle if he ever saw him on the street.

Lippert had left by the time Centralia Police were called. He was stopped Thursday night by Salem Police and taken to the Marion County Jail where he could be questioned by Centralia Police before being arrested.
