A 42-year-old Dix man has been charged in Jefferson County Court with three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Jefferson County Chief Deputy Blaine Uhls says Brian Teriet is charged for alleged improper physical contact with two juvenile girls. Uhls reports the first girl reported the alleged incident in 2019 immediately after it happened. The 14-year-old indicated Teriet had made the contact while she was babysitting for him. No charges were filed at that time, but the investigation reopened when a second girl who was 17 at the time came forward to report a similar incident had occurred in 2018.
Teriet was taken into custody at his home by sheriff’s deputies last Thursday. He was formally charged with the three Class Two felonies in Jefferson County Court on Friday. Bond was set at $150,000, but Teriet was later given a notice to appear. Teriet told the court he would hire his own attorney.
