One person was injured in a one-vehicle crash at Hickory and Calumet in Centralia late Thursday afternoon.

Centralia Police say 51-year-old Tyrone Alexander of 23rd Street in Mt. Vernon indicated a dog ran in front of him, causing him to run off Hickory Street and strike a pipe guarding a power pole.

While Alexander refused hospital treatment, a passenger in the car, 39-year-old Javanna Soles of North Hickory in Centralia, was taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of injuries.

Centralia Police, Fire, and Lifestar Ambulance all responded to the scene around four Thursday afternoon.
