Salem Firemen were called out Tuesday afternoon and again Wednesday morning on separate grass fires.
The first fire on the Deana Weber property at 1943 Lee Lane on Lake Centralia started as a controlled burn that got away. It spread to a shed that received minor exterior damage and caused some minor damage to items stored inside. Fire Chief Dave Duncan says the fire was confined to 100 by 150 foot area.
Firemen were called just before four pm and were on the scene for about an hour.
The second fire was discovered around 5:30 Wednesday morning and had started from a brush pile that was burning on Tuesday. The fire on the Jim and Manda Sellers property at 4669 Cross Road covered about a half acre before it was extinguished. There were no structures close by. Firemen were on the scene for about an hour.
