Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 8 has been requested by Fairfield Police to conduct a death investigation.
On Saturday, March 12th, at approximately eight am, a 28-year-old male was found deceased near the 600 block of Southeast Fourth Street in Fairfield.
The official cause and manner of death will be released by the Wayne County Coroner’s office once an autopsy is conducted and a toxicology report is received.
State Police say this is an active and ongoing investigation and no additional information is currently being released.
