Second Republican files for Marion County Sheriff; four more for Marion County Board

A second Republican candidate for Marion County Sheriff filed petitions Tuesday to be on the June primary ballot.  Ryan Castleman of Centralia will face off against Kevin Cripps in the Republican primary.   Cripps was on hand to file his petitions when the doors opened for filing Monday morning.

Four more candidates filed for Marion County Board on Tuesday.   Incumbent Sharon Woodward filed in District One along with Democrat Jon Meador.   They join Republicans Brock Waggoner of Salem and Tracy Murray of Patoka who filed on Monday.

Republican incumbent Bill Henson filed in District Three and Republican incumbent and board chair Debbie Smith in District Five.

Two other Republican candidates had filed on Monday, Jackie Riley of County Farm Road in Salem in District Two and Tyson McHenry of Junction City in District Three.

Incumbent County Clerk Steve Fox and Treasurer Gary Purcell also filed for re-election on Monday.

Candidate filing continues through next Monday afternoon at five at the county clerk’s office.
