COVID-19 numbers fell significantly across all South Central Counties for the week ending Saturday, but the number of hospitalizations increased in Marion and Fayette Counties.
Marion County positive or likely cases fell 41-percent to 64 cases, a drop of 41 percent. The positivity per capita dropped to 172 per 100,000 people, still in the high category of more than 100 cases per 100,000. There were 19 new hospitalizations, up 46-percent. 47-percent of the population is now fully vaccinated
with a booster shot.
Both Clinton and Fayette Counties fell to the substantial category of case. There were just 37 new cases in Clinton County, a drop of 68-percent. The positivity rate fell to 98 people per 100,000. There were no new hospitalizations. In Fayette County, new cases fell 66-percent to just 18. The rate of positivity is 84 per
100,000 people. However, there were 12 new hospitalizations in Fayette County.
In Jefferson County, cases fell 62-percent to 64 cases. The rate of infection was 70 per 100,000. There were ten new hospitalizations.
In Washington County, new cases fell 38-percent to 15. The rate of positivity is 108 per 100,000. There were no new hospitalizations.
In Clay County, new cases fell 51-percent to 28 cases. The positivity rate is 212 per 100,000. There were four new hospitalizations.
In Wayne County, cases were down 53-percent to 26. The positivity rate is 160 per 100,000. There was one new hospitalization.
