Bryan-Bennett Library holds Seeds, Stories and DIY Day on Saturday

By WJBD Staff Jan 28, 2022 | 11:35 AM

The Bryan-Bennett Library in Salem will host a Seeds, Stories, and DIY Day on Saturday, January 29.

Local businesswoman Cindy Dice will share her experiences and expertise on eating healthy. Like many, Mrs. Dice wanted to get into a better routine of eating healthy. She did her homework and has made nutritious food accessible for multiple generations of her family. She will be speaking at 11 Saturday morning.

Program Director Karen Shanafelt will guide participants in creating their own coconut oil-based lip balm, infused with essential oils.

Local gardeners can grab a bag or two or more of the seeds they already have on-hand and bring them to swap with other gardeners who have different seeds.

This makes a cost-effective way that the gardeners can try new varieties of plants.

Shanafelt has arranged to have seed catalogs available for those who attend.

Participation is free of charge.

There is a signup sheet for the lip balm activity at the circulation desk.
