The Poplar Place will host a community Thanksgiving Dinner for the 17th year.
Serving hours will be from eleven to two on Thursday.
One of the organizers, MiMi Hawkins, says they are preparing meals for 1,500people, a big increase over the 1,000 served last year.
Everyone is invited to join the Poplar Place for the complimentary traditional Thanksgiving Dinner.
You’ll be able to dine-in and carry-out meals. Meals can also be delivered. Delivery orders must be placed by eight Tuesday night by calling (618) 532-1747.
You may also call for carry outs all day Wednesday and during the meal on Thursday if you want them to be ready when you arrive. You may also just drop in Thursday from eleven to two to eat in or carry out.
Community members have donated hams and turkeys and all the fixings for the dinner. As of Tuesday morning, 450 deliveries were already scheduled.
