A community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on Thanksgiving Day for the fourth year in Salem at the Grace Church of the Nazarene.
Tammy Foltz first organized the dinner as a way to assure everyone had a Thanksgiving meal and did not have to be alone on the holiday.
Foltz is preparing to serve 550 dinners this year, up from the 350 reserved last year. She has 40 to 50 volunteers lined up and said they are in good shape to prepare, serve and deliver the traditional Thanksgiving Dinner.
Foltz says while reservations are not required, but it helps prepare the right number of meals. You can call the Grace Church of the Nazarene at 618-548-0881 to
request carry out, delivery, or to make a reservation to eat in.
