A vacant detached garage was destroyed by fire in Centralia early Saturday night.
Centralia City Firefighters say the garage at 708 South Pine was fully engulfed in flames upon their arrival. Firemen worked to keep the fire from spreading to a home next door owned by Vicki Ingram at 714 South Pine. There was some melted siding from the heat, but no fire damage.
The cause of the fire has not been determined. There were no vehicles or other significant items reported in the garage.
The ownership of the garage could not immediately be determined.
There were no injuries.
The on-duty firemen put out the fire, but other firemen were called in to stand by at the fire station in the event of another fire.
The fire call came in at 6:45 Saturday evening. Firemen were on the scene for about an hour.
