Governor JB Pritzker honored veterans in Illinois on Thursday. He noted after all vets have done for their country, the state must make sure it supports returning soldiers.
“In-state tuition is now free for veterans at our in-state public educational institutions. I also have given a boost to military personnel transitioning back to civilian life by giving them credit for in-service experience so that they can more easily get certifications for civilian jobs.”
The Governor also noted that the Chicago Veterans Home will soon be opening a new state-of-the-art facility is being built to replace the old home in Quincy. He spoke at a veterans day event in Chicago.
