Three people were taken to the hospital following a three vehicle crash that occurred on Route 161 east of Centralia near Schwartz Road Tuesday morning.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say 60-year-old Ivan Reynolds of Community Beech Road in Centralia was traveling eastbound when he ran into a vehicle in front of him stopped in traffic driven by 48-year-old Robert Moulder of Edgebrook Lane in Centralia. The impact of the crash forced the Moulder pickup into an SUV in front of him driven by 30-year-old Mollie Owen of Melrose Drive in Centralia. All were stopped in traffic behind a fourth vehicle waiting to make a left hand turn.
Deputies report Reynolds and a passenger in his SUV, Janet Marks of Community Beech Road in Centralia, as well as Moulder were all taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of injuries.
Reynolds will be ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. The crash occurred just after eight Tuesday morning.
