UNDATED (AP) — New coach, different result as the Chicago Blackhawks won for just the second time this season.

The Hawks were 2-1 winners over the Predators in Derek King’s first game as interim head coach. Chicago improved to 2-9-2 when Alex DeBrincat scored 37 seconds into overtime.

Chicago’s Brandon Hagel and Nashville’s Alexandre Carrier scored 1:50 apart in the second period for the only goals in regulation.

Elsewhere on NHL ice:

— The Islanders’ seven-game point streak is over after the Wild scored four unanswered goals in the third period of a 5-2 victory against New York. Brandon Duhaime scored the go-ahead goal midway through the third, about two minutes after Ryan Hartman tied the game for Minnesota.

— Troy Terry and Benoit-Olivier Groulx each had a goal and an assist, and John Gibson stopped 34 shots to lead the Ducks to a 4-1 win over the Blues. Sam Steel and Sam Carrick also scored for Anaheim.

— The Red Wings came away with a 5-2 win over the Golden Knights as Pius Suter and Tyler Bertuzzi each had a goal and an assist. Sam Gagner, Filip Hronek and Nick Leddy each had two assists, and Thomas Greiss stopped 38 shots in the victory.

— J.T. Miller had two power-play goals and the Canucks scored four times in the second period to beat the Stars, 6-3. Bo Horvat and Elias Pettersson each had a goal and two assists in Vancouver’s second win in six games.
