The Salem Wildcats saw their football season come to an end, losing at Breese Central 20-0. Salem trailed 7-0 after the first half, but two third quarter Cougar touchdowns sealed Salem’s fate. The Cats’ season ends 5-5. Central is 9-1 and hosts Murphysboro next week.

Decatur beat Flora 62-7 and is moving on to play Vandalia, who beat Chester 24-0, in Round 2.
Breese (Mater Dei) beat Carmi 54-16 and is moving on to play Johnston City in Round 2.
Nashville beat Mendon 48-20 and is moving on to play Bismarck in Round 2.
Class 3A:
Fairfield beat Hoopeston 26-0 and is moving on to play Williamsville in Round 2.
Carlinville beat DuQuoin 40-26 and is moving on to play Mt. Carmel in Round 2.
Monticello beat Greenville 42-7 and is moving on to play Benton, who beat Piasa 42-0, in Round 2.
