Marion County reporting 11 new COVID-19 cases

The Marion County Health Department is reporting 11 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday and no additional deaths.

Of the 11 new cases, one is fully vaccinated.   Three are school age and none are long-term care residents.  Five are community spread and six are household/close contacts.

There are currently 165 active cases of COVID-19 in Marion County.   Only three remain in the hospital.  One of those is on a ventilator.  One is in their 80s and two are in their 60s.

Another 97 were released from isolation on Friday.

The Illinois Department of Public Health has announced 14,616 new cases of coronavirus disease for the week ending Friday.   There were an additional 183 additional deaths statewide.

The statewide positivity rate has dropped to 1.8-percent.

69-percent of Illinoisans have received one dose of vaccine and 54-percent are fully vaccinated.
