If you want a preview of what the future of SCHS Wrestling looks like, just peek at the wreckage some of our athletes left behind at the preseason Midwest Nationals in Bloomington yesterday
Here is how the action unfolded on the mats:
• Alana Finney: Showed up and TOOK OVER! Registered for both the HighSchool division and the Women’s Collegiate Open, entirely erasing both brackets to walk away as a double champion.
• Phoenix Pilcher: Left absolutely zero doubt. He went a perfect five-for-five, ending every single match with a pin to earn a flawless gold medal performance.
• Kade Orrell: Put together an incredible run, rattling off four straight victories and fighting to the final whistle in a razor thin 2-0 battle to claim a hard earned silver.
• Gavin Phillips: Left everything out there. He pushed through every single whistle with pure grit, and while he didn’t leave with hardware this time, that relentless hustle is setting the foundation for a massive winter.
Energy was high and the hunger was real.
This off season crew just set the standard for what’s to come this winter!
