Centralia Police say a 43-year-old Centralia woman has died from stab wounds allegedly inflicted by her husband who then stabbed himself during a domestic altercation.
Marion County Coroner Claude Howell pronounced Jessica Reynolds of South Beech Street dead at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia where she succumbed to her injuries at 8:07 Wednesday morning.
Her husband was initially taken to St. Mary’s Hospital and then airlifted to a St. Louis Hospital for treatment. His name has not been released as the investigation by Centralia and State Police continues.
Howell says an autopsy completed on Thursday in Springfield, IL showed the woman died from a perforated heart and lung consistent with a stabbing.
Centralia Police initially responded to a battery complaint in the 300 block of South Beech at 7:17 Wednesday morning and allegedly found the two individuals outside the residence with stab injuries.
