Tornado warnings quickly followed each other as an unorganized group of severe thunderstorms moved across Marion County late Sunday afternoon.

Several were issued for the same storm as it crossed southern Fayette and northern Marion County. While there were numerous funnel clouds aloft, the only confirmed touchdowns were in the Meachum Road area east of Kinmundy near Forbes State Park.

Marion County Sheriff Kevin Cripps watched two separate funnel clouds merge together and touchdown briefly several times.

One video submitted to WJBD/WSIQ shows three separate funnel clouds in the air at once combining into one tornado. Additionally, another tornado touched down slightly later in the video right behind the initial three funnel clouds, resulting in four funnel clouds and two tornados for the area. The heaviest damage appeared to be along the Meachum Road north of Kinlou Road.  One property owner had an outbuilding blow completely away.  Powerlines and trees were down at a house in the next block.  A window was also knocked out.  The downed powerlines blocked traffic on Meachum and Forbes Roads until trees could be removed. The Kinmundy- Alma Fire Department was called out to assist in the cleanup.

There were several other reports of brief tornado touchdowns, but there were no immediate reports of any other damage.  The storm also dumped medium-sized hail in some locations.

In other locations, flooding rain was the problem.
