The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced the closure of one of the southbound lanes of I-57 at mile marker 132 three miles south of Farina through 4:30 Friday afternoon.

The lane closure will allow for AIDOT District 8 Operations forces to perform emergency bridge deck repairs on the bridge over the East Fork of the Kaskaskia River.

IDOT says motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through the area.  Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices, and be alert for workers and equipment.
