The Centralia City Council Monday night will hold a budget work session ahead of its regular meeting. Both proposed expenditures and revenues for next year’s budget will be discussed. The work session will begin at 5:30 pm.
At the regular city council meeting to follow, the council will look at approving a bid for improvements to Orchard Drive east and amending the liquor license to approve two new establishments.
The council will be asked to award a $249,036 bid to KRB Excavating, Inc. for the Orchard Drive East improvements that will include pavement removal and replacement, concrete curb and gutter, driveway improvements, storm sewer improvements, and pavement patching. KRB’s bid was under the engineer’s estimate of $292,478.
The council will be asked to issued a Class F liquor license to allow Centralia Food Mart at 135 South Elm to allow package liquor sales. Good Vibes Cafe is seeking a Class E liquor license to allow for liquor sales to their restaurant guests with meals.
An engineering agreement with Gonzalez Companies, LLC is being proposed for preliminary engineering and engineering inspection services for the 2026 Motor Fuel Tax State Maintenance Program.
The council will be asked to approve a resolution allowing the Prairie State Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, in partnership with the American Legion, to install a DAR America 250 Patriots Marker in Fairview Park as part of a national commemoration honoring those who secured America’s independence.
Mayor Bryan Kuder is seeking confirmation from the city council on appointing Mike Ross to the Cemetery Committee and Sabrina McClain to the Tourism Commission.
The regular council meeting begins at six Monday night at Centralia City Hall.
