A Centralia home was damaged in an electrical fire Monday morning.
Centralia City Firefighters say the fire was at the Charles Hays home at 1608 South Hickory. Hays and a second person were in the living room when they saw the fire start in electrical wires under a couch.
Firemen got a quick knockdown, but there was moderate fire damage to the living room and kitchen. There was some smoke damage to the rest of the home.
The fire is believed to have started in an extension cord.
The two occupants were out of the home on the fire department’s arrival.
The fire call came in at 10:09 Monday morning with firemen on the scene an hour and a half. The crew on duty was able to put out the fire without calling in any additional help.
